Bloom
Just around the corner…sooner than we think…blooms will appear on the trees and flowers will spring up in all their glory and I will be happy! Spring is my favorite season. We have begun shaking off the short days of winter that have given little sunshine and been filled with cold, rain, snow and sleet. Spring brings relief from the wintery blast and the earth begins to live again with bright, beautiful color with longer and warmer days. The promise of new life is enough to make me sing!
So…I will bloom with renewed vigor…planting seeds and flowering plants in my little flower garden. And…I continue to plant new designs into my portfolio of hope!
Enjoy the sunshine when it arrives…
It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade. ~ Charles Dickens
Living the creative life….
I am looking forward to great things in this new year…stretching out ahead is a clean calendar ready to be filled with all things creative. This journey to license my art and live a creative life is continuing and I look forward to what lies ahead.
There is much work to be done in my life this year…many dreams to continue pursuing and opportunities waiting to be explored. So I am pressing forward with a grateful heart in anticipation of good things to come.
I recently discovered this website Craft for Health and today my art and my story are featured on their blog. This is a great site and I look forward to getting to know these two ladies and learning about their work.
Artist Tara Reed http://artlicensingblog.com/ has a great post on choosing a verb for 2010 rather than making resolutions. A great idea…I think I will need more than one verb…create and prepare. Two action verbs that will lead me further on this licensing journey. There are lots of opportunities and I want to be ready for everyone that comes my way!
Live the creative life!
bold colors
doodling…letting my pencil create, coloring with markers and finding inspiration in the creation.
Every now and then go away,
Have a little relaxation,
For when you come back to your work
Your judgment will be surer; Since to remain constantly at work
Will cause you to lose power of judgment…
Go some distance away
Because the work appears smaller
And more of it can be taken in at a glance,
And a lack of harmony or proportion is more readily seen.
- Leonardo Da Vinci
happy fall
I thought it would be fun to try something different. After gathering a few leaves from my yard, I put them on my scanner and scanned them into my computer. Then in Photoshop I turned them into a greeting card. I will have to scout out more leaves to preserve through the magic of Photoshop.
“They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for. –Tom Bodett
some of my favorite things…
Simplicity–living life with as few things as possible and letting go of things that keep me from living my dream.
Wide open spaces—I have spent too many years living in rural America, and oh how I love those wide open spaces.
The beauty of nature—flowers, gardens, bees and birds.
Family and friends
The cool crisp air of fall and the beautiful colors of the changing season.
Exploring new places.
…..and of course creativity which comes in many forms—painting, photography, fiber arts and re-purposing materials, either clothing or junk.
here is a piece of my original art with original verse which will be in the market place soon….

hope you fill your days with things that you love!
