taking yourself seriously

Dreams…we all have them….the question is what do we do with them….do we work hard to achieve our dreams or do we take them out occasionally to polish them, admire them or think of all the things that stand in the way…do we actually believe in our dreams.

" Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead". Louisa May Alcott

Do we take ourselves seriously?

This morning as I went down the list of some of my favorite blogs I stopped here and here. And I began to think about how we see ourselves and what we really believe about our dreams and do we really take ourselves seriously or….are we just dreaming? I don’t want to just look up and see the beauty of my dreams I want to “follow where they lead.”

Polishing the dream, the idea or the creation will never get us to the achievement level. It takes following through, committing, planning, going, doing…in other words WORK.

I am inspired by those who achieve…inspiration is wonderful; however, inspiration is not enough. I have to take my tools, my talents and get up and follow (WORK) my dream and take myself seriously. The road to success is littered with lots of polished dreams that were abandoned because someone didn’t take themselves seriously.

We can sit on the dock of life thinking about our dreams…or we can FLY.

Getting out of the comfort zone

it is hard to push out into the world to try new things, discover new places, meet new people, change jobs or do anything that requires us to be uncomfortable. Sometimes we are forced due to circumstances; however, let’s face it the comfort zones of life are just easier.

As I move forward with art licensing I need to make changes, do things differently, try new routes to get to where I want to be, open up to new ideas and redirect my energies…

in other words it is time to get busy with a new plan that moves me beyond my comfort zones.

Armed with renewed

Courage I am formulating my plan of attack…the month of February will be a transition time…moving into our new home, our daughter moving to a foreign country, a new job for me, changes to my art licensing business plan, website and logo and new opportunities are ahead.

Through the next few weeks I will be writing about what I need to get me from where I am to where I need to be.

If we expect to see changes, we have to be willing to do something different.

61 days…

A challenge to finish strong for 2011.  There is much to accomplish, such as, complete new art projects, submit art for licensing, prepare for attending Atlanta Mart in January, 2012, and in the midst of this work I will be moving and enjoying Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Today I am writing a list and making plans for the next 61 days.

Here’s a peak at my list….

61 days

My goal is to complete 61 projects/tasks before December 31, 2011.  I will be busy! Having my list and written goals will help me make the last 61 days of 2011 very productive.
